I still consider myself a Michigan girl; but that doesn’t mean I don’t respect and have an interest in the history of the state I currently live in.
While exploring MyBase, one of the sims operated by the U. S. Air Force in what is essentially a military sector within the Grid, I came across this plaque on a wall, celebrating the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen.
The story of the Airmen is well-known to many; but for those who may be unfamiliar by chance, please read this article at Wikipedia, and follow the external links as well.

Thanks for taking time to visit our regions. And glad you enjoyed the history you found there about our Air Force. You may want to visit Huffman Prairie where you will find even more history.
I am one of the builders of all the AF regions.
You’re quite welcome; I found the area interesting, especially the people movers you have both above and below ground. We could use things like that in RL in our cities, and a lot less traffic allowed on the streets; air and environment would prosper as a result.
I did go over to Huffman Prairie, I believe; are you referring to that area in the stone corridors with the library carrels and various other items? I know there’s a lot to examine — when allowed — in the military regions en toto. (I say “when allowed” because the Navy, at least once according to Hamlet Au at New World Notes, has locked people out while a meeting of some kind was going on. No implication that anything classified was going on; and SL wouldn’t be the platform to do that kind of thing anyway, without a lot of sea separation between military islands and the rest of the Grid.)
