Far too many things going on this past week for both Jem and me; unfortunately, Real Life interferes with the more important stuff — such as Second Life photoshoots. But we got it together, I finally got the photos edited and resized, and here’s what Jemmy and I chose for this year’s St. Patrick’s Day.

Hmmm! I got the word about this place being a great bed-and-breakfast, but to me it looks like something out of the beginning of that Kate Beckinsale movie…? Yeah; Cold Comfort Farm. Sort of how it looked before Kate’s character arrives; it gets turned around by the end of the movie.
Ah, well; I’ve laid down seventy-five quid for the night here, non-refundable. I might as well find out if it was worth the scratch. And the lavender in the pots looks and smells lovely!
I suppose I’m fitting the theme here; I’m dressed up as fancy as Kate’s character, very much a city girl in a world outside of her experience. It doesn’t matter that Cold Comfort Farm was set in the 1920s and this is the 2010s. I found this great suit at Ferosh Fashion Week, and I just had to wear it today. I even managed to keep from splashing it with mud, or ruining it by laying down the scooter!
Now, if I can just find someone to help me lug the luggage upstairs to the room…. And I hope this diamond collar will be safe here; I don’t want a goat breaking into the room and munching down on it. Maybe I should have brought the titanium hatbox with me.

Sundown all around
Walking through the summer’s end
Baby don’t look back
I won’t walk away again
Oooooh, baby, anywhere you go
We are bound together
I begin, baby, where you end
Some things are forever
Circle in the sand, ’round and ’round
Neverending love is what we’ve found
And you complete the heart of me
Our love is all we need
Circle in the sand, circle in the sand

If you follow me on Plurk, you know I’ve been out of town. I got back in time to check out the last day of the Fiera avant-garde event, and picked up a few things I’m wearing here from Zibska, along with other goodies from various stores. This outfit doesn’t really scream avant garde to me, but it’s excellent and can work for multiple occasions.
Yes, this year’s Academy Awards are behind us; the OFPC is in bed until next January; but I couldn’t resist this dress when I came across it a week or so ago. It’s just so darn close to what Jennifer Lawrence wore to this year’s ceremony in RL! The two differences I can see are a richer red on the in-world dress (Jennifer’s, as you can see, was an orange-y color), and an extremely low back on my dress. Not surprising on the last, though; this dress was worked up by Pure Poison, and Shaleene Kenin has a definite reputation for sexy apparel.
I tried to get fairly close to Jennifer’s actual look when I put this shoot together, but there are inevitable differences. My hairstyle is fuller than hers, and I couldn’t find a shoulder collar necklace like hers, let alone one that draped down the back. (Lawrence — or her stylist — seems to have a liking for this, as she wore a back-duster in 2013 as well.) I chose to add in a grace note of color as well, thus the EarthStones watch on my wrist. All in all, a delicious look!

Sometimes you just gotta slow down and relax. That’s what’s so nice about the various popular coffee houses and bars in Second Life, such as the Pixel Bean (redesigned from last year); you can kick back as much as you want, have a cuppa virtual tea or coffee, even pet a cat if you want. (You can’t do that in real coffee houses, of course; health laws won’t let them have a house cat or dog.)
